History

During the 1950's and 1960's, many Dutch immigrants settled around Ontario's Niagara Peninsula, a scenic area famous for its agricultural traditions. With a rich history of farming and growing embedded in their culture, these European settlers brought with them an expanse of knowledge and experience related to the cultivation of vegetables. They soon introduced their own growing practices to the region and have since become part of the cultural mosaic of the Canadian and North American agricultural and horticultural landscape.

In 1985, three such immigrants from Holland came together to form St. David's Hydroponics Ltd., a company originally devoted to the production of hydroponic European bell peppers with long expertise in the use of hydroponic growing technology. The first greenhouse was established in St. David's, Ontario, close to the beautiful area of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

We have since expanded with new greenhouses in Beamsville, Ontario, and a major new greenhouse facility in Niagara-on-the-Lake. All of our greenhouses are located close to Lake Ontario and the Canadian/US border. This gives us quick access to important major markets.

Our total greenhouse area is currently 57 acres.
